"Every player dreams of playing in Croke Park on St. Patrick's Day. Getting there is the toughest part."
A week out from their AIB All-Ireland club football final against Castlebar, those in the Firhouse Road region of Dublin 16 are preparing for a Croke Park invasion.
In the semi-finals last month, Ballyboden St. Enda's trailed Clonmel Commercials by three points with five minutes remaining. Andy McEntee's side were down to 14 men following a straight red card for midfielder Declan O'Mahoney.
'Boden knocked over three points in injury-time - including a Darragh Nelson leveller which features prominently in the below promo for next week's game - to force the game to extra-time at 10 points apiece.
In the extra 20 minutes that followed, the side from south Dublin outscored the Munster champions (minus their captain Michael Quinlivan who was black carded) by 0-5 to 0-0, reaching the final on Paddy's Day.
AIB, the tournament's sponsors, documented the semi-final and have turned the video into a superb two-and-a-bit-minute documentary, which depicts just how much the club championship means to players.
In a week where Brendan Maher admitted he'd swap an inter-county All-Ireland medal with Tipp for its club equivalent on The Toughest, it's fitting to see the likes of former Footballer of the Year Michael Darragh Macauley and Dublin teammate Conal Keaney speak so passionately about the club All-Ireland that they're seeking to take back across the Liffey this time next week.
