Wexford continued their good form against Kilkenny today when they won the Bord Na Móna Walsh Cup senior hurling final at Nowlan Park. It took a frees-shoot out to separate the sides.
The game was a hotly contested one that finished 1-24 after normal time. It also saw Richie Reid sent off for pulling an opponent's helmet while his manager, Brian Cody, was sent to the stand.
While it may only be a pre-season tournament, the two sides weren't treating it as such and an almighty schemozzle broke out:
Brian Cody was sent off during the game too after arguing against his player's red card.
After the game, Cody clarified his dismissal when speaking to the Mirror.
One of our players got sent off and I merely said to the linesman that he was being mauled and dragged, which he was, and then he said, ‘I’ll put you out of the field and I said, ‘ You won’t put me out of the field’.
Then he put up his flag and somebody else may have roared something. That’s as much as I said. That’s the way it went.

Reid was sent off in a separate incident to the dust-up, while Cody was sent off for protesting.
The sides are set to face each other in the championship, in the fifth round of the round robin. That game is fixed for Nolan Park next June.
You get the sense Leinster may have a new rivalry.
