For GAA fans, it's been a summer unlike any other. The National Leagues remain unfinished. The Championship has been deferred to the winter. Club fixtures without spectators fill August and September. To make sense of it all, AIB and acclaimed documentary maker Ross Whitaker teamed up to make 'The Toughest Summer' documentary, which chronicled the ups and downs of life under lockdown for the GAA community. It aired Tuesday night on RTÉ and was very well-received.
There were excellent contributions from the likes of David Brady, Ballyragget manager and Kilkenny camogie legend Ann Downey and Roscommon superfan Paddy Joe Burke, amongst others. The documentary gave us all hope that this country can weather any lockdown and come back tougher.
Some great times registered at height of lockdown by our lads https://t.co/rzJtoiaIpM
