Tyrone have shipped some heavy criticism in the wake of their Machiavellian tactics in the last five minutes of their win over Meath last week. The Ulster side adopted a blanket foul stance to stop and then win the game. Owen Mulligan was asked about this on Championship Matters Thursday night. He said it is wrong to call Tyrone cynical and that if he's winning a game with five minutes to go he will then pull down a man. Niall Carew, the Waterford manager endorses Mulligan's view as does Sean Armstrong of Galway. A little snippet of the collective mentality that has invaded football where winning at all costs and deliberate fouling isn't cynical. What shall we call it then?
