The Connacht final between Mayo and Sligo was over at half-time with last year's All-Ireland semi-finalists leading 4-9 to 1-6.
In the RTÉ studio Michael Lyster summed up the first half action with a joke referencing his recent health scare.
A couple of people around here asking me at half-time if I'm feeling OK. There's more life in me I'm afraid than there is out there on that pitch at the moment.
And that's not saying a lot.
Lyster was taken ill last month on the weekend of the Leinster Hurling Championship replay between Dublin and Galway.
It later emerged that the 61-year-old had suffered a cardiac arrest.
Speaking with the Sunday World, Lyster revealed how close he had come to dying and also disclosed how chance and the calmness of his wife had saved his life.
