Unexpect the Expected!
A couple of weeks ago the GAA launched their new promotional campaign for the National Leagues in hurling and football with this TV advert.

It's the usual fine production standard you expect from GAA adverts showing their athletes in the height of battle. Then they hit you with the slogan; "Unexpect the Expected." It's never really a good idea to start a slogan with a word that doesn't exist, and leave the viewer thinking "WTF?!"
The GAA is usually excellent at marketing their games so maybe it was a one-off and just for TV? Nope they've been pushing it on twitter too over the weekend.
It all starts tomorrow evening. Unexpect the Expected! twitter.com/officialgaa/st…

So how's that slogan going down with sports fans?
"Unexpect the expected". They won't pay their players but paid someone to come up with that?

Is 'Unexpect the Expected' the most rubbish marketing slogan ever? Take a bow, GAA.

The GAA would be better off revamping inter-county competitions than coming up with tacky slogans for the AFL: 'Unexpect the expected'. Wow.
