The Ulster chief executive Danny Murphy is adamant that the scheduled match between the Donegal champions St Eunan's and the Fermanagh victors Roslea is going ahead this Sunday. This is in spite of the fact that Croke Park is still evaluating an appeal from Naomh Conaill over the result of the Donegal county championship.
Naomh Conaill (Glenties) were defeated by Glenswilly in the Donegal semi-final, but launched an appeal after a Glenswilly player received both a yellow card and then a black card in the closing minutes and was replaced by a substitute, Oisin Crawford. Glenswilly should have gone down to 14 men.
To make matters worse, Crawford kicked a crucial score to put Glenswilly into the lead and set them on the road to victory. Naomh Conaill appealed the result to the Ulster Council, who threw it out on the basis that the club's paperwork wasn't in order.
Glenswilly were defeated by St. Eunan's in the county final.
However, the GAA has decided to review the original appeal and they could decide to send the matter back to the Ulster Council to take another look at. And the paperwork will likely be in order by the time the next appeal rolls around.
