Unless it's a hurl bending over an opponent's head, there's little more aesthetically pleasing than seeing the moment a hurl breaks in the middle of a tackle. One part in hand and the other flying through the air like a young bird out of the nest for the first time.

We have Sportsfile photographer Piaras Ó Mídheach to thank for this wonderful photo during the Dr. Harty Cup Final between Thurles CBS and St Francis College, Rochestown. Thurles' Michael Connors is the player who was in need of a new hurl however, he probably won't mind too much given that he and his Thurles teammates ran out 2-12 to 1-12 winners on Saturday afternoon.
