Former Galway hurler Tony Og Regan has joined All-Ireland champions Limerick as a member of their backroom team.
Manager John Kiely has moved to replace the void left by Caroline Currid's departure and appointed Regans as a performance psychology coach. Per the Limerick Leader, Regan will w0rk with the senior panel in a similar role this season.
Currid was a key member of Limerick's backroom team last year. Limerick captain Declan Hannon referenced their sports performance psychologist by name during his victory speech: "She has just been phenomenal with us for the last two years. She has always been there for us."
Regan has a masters in sport and exercise psychology and has worked with a host of inter-county teams including the Galway footballers, as well as the Tipperary and Waterford hurlers.
It is understood he has also worked with Limerick club Doon already this year.
Limerick are in action this weekend, as they prepare to face Waterford in the Allianz League Final this Sunday.
