Doon won their first Limerick SHC title, defeating Na Piarsaigh by one point in difficult conditions at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Having lost two finals in the last seven years, Doon were rocked on their heels by conceding two goals in the space of two first half minutes, through Na Piarsaigh stalwarts David Dempsey and Adrian Breen.
The brilliance of county star Adam English kept Doon in touch in what was a feisty affair, with county team-mates sparking off each other.
Na Piarsaigh led by one point at the break but Doon assumed control of the game in the second half, with English again to the fore as team captain Darragh O'Donovan led by example.
Former county man Pat Ryan also scored an inspirational point as did Barry Murphy.
Frees from Shane Dowling and an rousing score from the returning Peter Casey brought Na Piarsaigh back into the game before Dylan Lynch levelled it up with six minutes to go.
Man-of-the-match English had the last say in the 57th minute, sealing a historic triumph for his club as they won out by 0-16 to 2-9.
"Probably the best day of my life," English told TG4 afterwards.
"This is one hundred years of hurt, we're the first team to do it. I can't believe it," he added.
'Probably the best day of my life, I can't explain it !

After the game, winning captain Darragh O'Donovan hailed his county team-mate Peter Casey. The forward suffered an awful leg injury in the Munster championship against Tipperary this summer, but made it back in the 45th minute of the game.
"I suppose it would be very unfair not to acknowledge that today was a victory for hurling when we saw Peter Casey coming back onto the field in the 45th minute today," he said.
"It was unbelievable Peter, and it's great to see you back."
