The whole Sky deal was basically about Cavan
Consider this: last year Cavan had their best championship in years and played live on television five times. Then Sky suddenly become interested in broadcasting GAA matches ... Coincidence? I think not.
I propose the theory that Sky were so taken by Cavan's style of play and the side's potential that they decided to get in on the action. And if you don't believe me, just look at the matches they have rights to this summer; the Ulster semi-final Cavan will feature in, should they win on Sunday and the All Ireland quarter-final that will feature the winners of the Ulster Championship. Nothing gets past those buckos in Sky. They know how shit's guna go down!
They have the support of the Playboy Mansion
Although someone's going to have to break it to the Rock that Killian Clarke's gone to America for the summer.
They each carry a small photo of Larry Reilly in their wallet
It's a well known fact that Terry Phelan Hall of Famer, Larry Reilly, has had such an effect on Cavan football that every player carries his image to remind them that they're only in the team because Larry wills it, and that he could return and take their place at any moment.
Indeed – on the topic of the upcoming World Cup – in Brazil there’s a special edition toilet paper called ’Pele’. There was going to be a toilet paper called ’Larry’, but Larry Reilly doesn’t take crap from anyone.
