The managerial-merry-go-round is in full swing in inter-county GAA.
There have been three new appointments in the last 24 hours hot on the heels of Colm O'Rourke's departure from Meath as well as Dooher and Logan's exit from Tyrone.
Neither of those posts have been filled but there have been appointments in Tipperary, Longford and Kerry.
Tipperary football
Tipperary have been in the hunt for a new manager since Paul Kelly stepped down immediately after their loss to in the Limerick in the preliminary quarter final of the Tailteann Cup.
The Premier County endured a disappointing year, finishing sixth in Division Four before losing to Waterford in Munster.
There was brief respite when they got revenge on the Déise in the Tailteann Cup, brief being the key word as they were knocked out in the next round.
Former Tipperary and Clonmel Commercials goalkeeper Philly Ryan has been put forward as their new manager.
Ryan has managed underage Tipperary underage teams in recent times, and has also been a coach with his native Clonmel up to last year when they won another county title. Getting a key player like club-man Michael Quinlivan to commit might be top of the list of his priorities.
"My philosophy has always been that football is all about the players," Ryan said upon his appointment.
"Players will judge me on how much I care as well as how much I know.
"The team is the star so every individual player and management member will have to leave their ego at the door. I subscribe to the old saying – it’s amazing what can be achieved when nobody cares who gets the credit”.
Longford football
Paddy Christie left the midlanders after a disappointing second season in 2024 where they were pointless in the Tailteann Cup and fourth in Division Four.
Mayo man Mike Solan will take over from Christie having worked with his club-man Andy Moran during his first season as manager of Leitrim.
Ballaghaderreen man Solan was Mayo under-21 manager when they won the All-Ireland title in 2016, defeating Cork in the final. He also won a county under-20 title as Mayo manager in 2018.
Kerry hurling
Former Kerry captain John Griffin becomes their first native manager since 2007, replacing Stephen Molumphy in the job.
The Lixnaw man played for ten years with Kerry, winning two Christy Ring Cups as a player. He played with his club in last year's county final loss to Crotta O'Neills, having had a role in Kieran Kingston's backroom team over Cork in 2022.
His former Kerry team-mates Seán Maunsell and Aidan Healy will be part of his management ticket, with Healy's club Abbeydorney having won the county hurling title at the beginning of August.
