Three of last year's All-Ireland club finalists have been knocked out in a dramatic weekend of club action.

From a hurling perspective St Thomas' and O'Loughlin Gaels fell to Cappataggle and Thomastown respectively with reigning football champs Watty Graham's Glen going down at the hands of Newbridge after an incredible battle in the Derry SFC final

Watty Graham's Glen defeated in Derry final

Malachy O'Rourke's side were on the rack, trailing by three points after five minutes of the second half before a goal from Conleth McGuckian dragged them back into it.

Shane McGrogan responded instantly with a green flag for Newbridge before they kicked onto lead by three heading into injury-time.

Ryan Dougan looked to have kept Glen alive with a late fisted goal before corner back Ciaran Brooks won it for Newbridge with a late point. They held onto win their twelfth title, a first in 35 years.

Thomastown blitz O'Loughlin Gaels

Four points from play from John Donnelly helped Thomastown to their second ever Kilkenny SHC title, comprehensively defeating O'Loughlin Gaels in the final.

O'Loughlin Gaels were hot favourites but they had no answer to the three Donnellys, with John, Robbie and Stephen all scoring freely in ending their back-to-back dreams.

Doon win their first

Adam English inspired Doon to their first ever Limerick SHC title with 0-11, including three from play as they overcame Na Piarsaigh.
