Goalscorer Colm Hulton spoke to The Left Wing Back podcast after the game and was delighted with the win but put it down to the work done in training during the week.
Ya look a great game, great game to be involved in. Look the space opened up we had to kinda go for it at the last minute. Thankfully I was on the end of it and got the goal."
"So look I'm thrilled. It's not all about my goal, the work rate today was unreal it was a great bounce back from last week. We know last week wasn't good enough but look we got the victory today, we dug deep, we worked had all week in training and we got the result we wanted."
Cometh the hour cometh the man!
He’s not left footed but Colm Hulton asked Roberto Carlos to hold his beer approaching full time and produced an absolutely stunning goal to give Carlow a one point win over Leitrim and put them back into the promotion shake up 🇬🇳 pic.twitter.com/qZdvuNAjI0— The Left Wing Back (@TheLeftWingBack) February 25, 2024
The former Dublin minor, who is actually right footed was mainly focused on forcing the keeper to make a save as he scored the winning goal with his left.
I just wanted to hit the target more than anything else. Would've went with the right foot but probably would've got blocked down and ya look sidestepped yer man and the goal came off, it was brilliant."
