To mark the end of another football championship (sniff), The Sunday Game briefly turned into an ensemble, with a host of pundits gathering around Des Cahill to talk over each other. Colm O'Rourke, Joe Brolly, Dessie Dolan, Tomás O'Sé, Kevin McStay, and Ciaran Whelan all gathered round to look back on the year that was, and to select their team of the year.
The conversation naturally meandered onto the topic of Dublin's dominance, with Colm O'Rourke repeating his belief that Dublin need to be split in more than two to give as many young Dubs the opportunity to play inter-county football.
Joe Brolly agreed with O'Rourke, saying that a "drastic reorganisation" is needed of the GAA's structures, calling it a "massive problem". He objected to Ciaran Whelan's reaction, saying that "it's all very well for you to laugh about this Ciaran"before the former Dublin midfielder had his say.
Whelan began his point with perhaps the best line on the programme this year: "You've made your point Joe. Just be quiet".
