Any obscure or unusual GAA reference is very important to us here at Balls.ie, and we've just seen an absolute gem from Limerick's most successful rap duo, The Rubberbandits.
Blindboy and Mr Chrome took to their Facebook page to share a blast from the past that they were reminded of thanks to going to see 'Straight Outta Compton', the vastly popular biopic of the members of N.W.A., which is in cinemas now.
It turns out that back in 2008 Ice Cube learnt how to properly swing a hurley thanks to the lads, as they explained beneath the picture.

Is Ice Cube the first mainstream US rapper to show an appreciation of the GAA? He owns a hurley thanks to The Rubberbandits, and that's enough for us. We'd love to know of any other examples, surely someone gave Macklemore a sliotar in The Twisted Pepper or something.
