A fraca broke out amongst the crowd yesterday in Thurles after Kanye West was rumoured to have angered Cork fans with jibes about Denis Irwin.
West is on his honeymoon in Ireland this week with Kim Kardashian and the pair were to said to have chastised those at yesterday's match to such a point that members of the crowd threw a few shoulders and high knees in their direction.
'Kanye was telling us Denis Irwin had a really big head,' one Cork found told us. He added 'Coming from him, those kind of comments are a bit rich.'
The supporter then claimed that Kimye started waving Lyons pyramid teabags at the crowd, and shouting 'Barry's is pure cat malojan.' At least they seem to be picking up on some of colloquialisms.
Irwin refused to comment on the events but Roy Keane spoke out in defence of his friend, when talking to media after yesterday's Ireland friendly: 'I never rated West as a rap artist, I don't rate him as a fashion designer and I don't rate him as a man.'
The Kimye entourage played down yesterday's events, saying that Kim and Kanye would like to put it behind them and get on with the real reason they have come to Cork; finding a appropriate place to conceive and name their second child after.
A spokesperson for the couple said 'Kim and Kanye are very busy this week. Already they've visited Dripsey and Halfway, and are planning to get to Passage West and Sheep's Head by tomorrow afternoon. They particularly have their heart set on naming their child Passage West West.'
