What started as an exciting day of hurling at Croke Park descended a mob of stetson wearers with poor penmanship making country and western puns. Yes, the Garth Brooks debacle raged on yesterday during the Leinster senior hurling final between Kilkenny and Dublin.
Scores of aggrieved Garth Brooks enthusiasts descended upon the spiritual home of Irish sport to protest the cancellation of two of his concerts that were set to be held in the stadium this month. While the worthiness of their cause may be justifiable, there is little doubt that the group need to improve their slogans and sign-making abilities.
Sloppy ampersands and a liberal use of text-speak-esque replacement of words with figures are unlikely to garner the movement any respect from cynics.
