The All Ireland Football Championship really kicks up a gear this weekend, with three provincial finals, and plenty of qualifiers, including two on Sky Sports this Saturday evening. However, before we look forward, let's look back to last weekend as we crown our footballers and hurlers of the week.
In the football, Dublin earned yet another Leinster title, with impressive displays from Diarmuid Connolly and Ciaran Kilkenny in particular. Man of the match, Connolly earned himself a nomination in our poll and he proved to dominate the voting.
The stylish half-forward, easily wins the footballer of the week with a whopping 61% of the vote. Damien Comer comes in second on 19% after Galway's great win over Armagh, while Kildare's Paul Cribben and Fermanagh's Niall Cassidy come in third and fourth respectively.
Meanwhile our hurler of the week vote goes to the man with the best nickname in the GAA. John 'Bubbles' O'Dwyer was a shining light in last Sunday's Munster final. His vital role in Tipperary's win over Waterford did not go unnoticed, as he has topped the poll with 50% of the vote.
Dublin mounted a great comeback to advance past Limerick on Saturday evening and it was led by scoring machine Paul Ryan, who comes in second in our poll. Cork's Billy Cooper comes third with 16% of the vote while Bubbles' teammate Niall O'Meara is fourth, having received 75 of the vote.
While there's no hurling on this weekend, we should know the four provincial winners in the football come Monday, and the field will be down to 12 in the race for Sam, as things start to hot up.
