It has been a tough couple of seasons for the Clare hurlers since winning the All-Ireland just over two years ago. However their hopes for 2016 have been given a lift with reports that Podge Collins looks set to return to their panel.
The 2013 All-Star has been part of his father's football squad but, according to the Clare Champion, he will resume his dual status next yeat after Davy Fitzgerald had a change heart regarding his rule that players could not play both codes.
Collins is currently recovering from a cruciate ligament injury so will likely miss both the national football and hurling league campaigns but there's no doubt he'll be a big addition to the hurling team, as they look to win only their second match in the championship since beating Cork in the 2013 All-Ireland final.
