Connacht GAA announced on Wednesday evening that Dr. Hyde Park in Roscommon would be the venue for the Connacht final between Mayo and Sligo on July 19th.
It was a surprise announcement as many believed the only options to be MacHale Park in Castlebar and Pearse Stadium in Saltill.
Reaction to the decision, to say the least, has not been positive.
The main issues cited include the low capacity of 20,000, lack of proper facilities and possible parking problems.
These tweets are mainly from Mayo fans (they're very active on Twitter), if you're dissatisfied Sligo fan then let us know and we'll add in your tweet.
Hyde Park wasn't deemed fit to host a Connacht Final last week. Now, it magically is. They don't even have toilets. http://t.co/hVsoUPEM9z

Just seen the news re Hyde Park as the Connacht final there. Crazy decision, place not fit to hold a club game let alone a provincial final.

@MayoClub51 mixed reaction? That would mean some in favour. Not so. A complete joke! 40000 all seater lying idle for another summer! #gaa

How in the name of god can you pick Hyde Park. 20,000 capacity. You can cut it down to 16,500 straight away cause of season ticket holders

@ConnachtGAA @MayoGAA disgraceful decision on Hyde Park. Will have to pay top dollar to use port-a-loos yet again. This is the 21st century.

And the purpose of pumping millions into MacHale Park and Pearse Park was what exactly?

The Galway traffic is bad but Roscommon is just as bad. At least the facilities in Salthill are good. Hyde Park isn't fit for it #MayoGAA
