TG4 Set To Broadcast 'Up For The Match' Inspired Show For Ladies Football Finals

3 July 2018; Breaking new ground: Top inter-county stars took in the breath-taking scenery at Mullaghmeen Forest in county Westmeath, to launch the revamped 2018 TG4 All-Ireland championships. TG4 have announced a four-year extension of their sponsorship of the Ladies Football championships, with the new deal set to last until the conclusion of the 2022 season. 17 Ladies Football championship games will be broadcast this summer exclusively live on TG4, with the senior and intermediate championships to be played on a new, round-robin basis. The LGFA have announced that TG4 will air a live All-Ireland preview in the build-up to the ladies football finals at Croke Park this weekend.

The programme will be called 'Seó Beo Pheil na mBan le Lidl', and will be broadcast live from The Mansion House in Dublin at 9.30pm this Saturday 15th of September.

It will be hosted by Gráinne McElwain and Dáithí Ó Sé, with a number of famous Irish sporting stars set to feature.

Swimmer Ellen Keane and former Cork player Valerie Mulcahy are just some of the names that will appear on the show, while there will also be live music from a couple of well-known acts.

This Sunday will see a number of exciting finals taking place at Croke Park. The senior final will see a defending champions Dublin take on Cork, who have won 11 of the last 13 titles. The two sides are familiar with each other, having met in three finals in a row from 2014-2016, with Cork coming out on top in each match.

Meath and Tyrone will go head to head in the intermediate decider, while Limerick and Louth will meet in the junior final.

'Up For The Match' has been a staple of RTÉ's build up to the All-Ireland hurling and football finals for a number of years, and TG4 will be hoping that this new show can add to their fantastic coverage of ladies football.

It will be broadcast in partnership with Lidl and the LGFA, and should it prove successful it could become a annual event.
