Roscommon were undoubtedly one of the glamour teams of the 1940s; their rise from Junior status to Senior All-Ireland champions in the four years leading up to 1943 was one of the great romances of its time - a story unsurpassed until now.
From the footballing stronghold of Boyle Co. Roscommon comes this fantastic promotional video for John Evans' Roscommon senior footballers.
The wonderfully emotional 1 minute and 49 seconds, will hurl you back in time to the heady summers of '43 and '44; making you believe that maybe - just maybe - this could be the year.
While it is beautifully shot and expertly edited we reckon the more traditional elements are what makes this video work: Producer Louise Gaffney shows her significant gaelic footballing nous, through close-ups of Copa Mundials, Lucozade water-bottles and sound-bytes from the enigmatic John Evans.
Roscommon GAA has never looked so glamorous.
