We confess that the above headline sounds like a rather bold claim but that's before you see the sterling investigative work done by Camera Doesn't Lie on twitter. He has uncovered the fact that RTE edited co-commentator Liam Sheedy's contribution for the highlights programme to make it look as if he called the ruling on Shane Dowling's second goal correctly.
In the live broadcast, Sheedy observed, 'to me that should have been a free out... I'm surprised he let that goal stand.'
At the start of the second half, Sheedy had revised his view, saying 'Barry Kelly was absolutely 100% correct. It was a goal and a good goal.'
All perfectly fine. Sober reflection and all that.
But by the time people settled down to watch the highlights programme, Sheedy's comments praising Barry Kelly's judgement at the start of the second half were now accompanied by replay footage of Dowling's goal, explicity making it look like Sheedy's initial judgement had been correct.
