This is not something we expected to see today.
Sky Sports are really getting into this GAA thing, and they have put together an XI of professional footballers who participated in gaelic football in their past.
For the most part it's fairly standard with the likes of Shane Long and Seamus Coleman, but there are a few interesting inclusions there too, such as Xabi Alonso and Jack Grealish.
The team in full looks like this:
David Forde - Millwall/Galway
Seamus Coleman - Everton/Donegal
John O'Shea - Sudnerland/Waterford
Chris Baird - West Brom/Antrim
Marc Wilson - Stoke/Armagh
Stephen Hunt - Ipswich/Waterford
David Meyler - Hull/Cork
Xabi Alonso - Bayern Munich/Meath
Jack Grealish - Aston Villa/Warwickshire
Shane Long - West Brom/Tipperary
Kevin Doyle - Colorado Rapids/Wexford
Manager: Neil Lennon - Bolton/Armagh
Assistant: Jim McGuinness - Celtic/Donegal
They also offer a little background on the GAA credentials of each player.
For Xabi Alonso, they said:
His spell in GAA may have been brief but we still have to include the Spanish maestro, who played Gaelic football during a summer in Kells as a teenager learning English.
And for Jack Grealish:
The Aston Villa youngster is currently embroiled in a tug-of-war between Ireland and England, but Grealish was also an accomplished Gaelic footballer.
Grealish played at underage level for Warwickshire and scored a point at Croke Park in 2009 in a half-time game during Dublin’s All-Ireland quarter-final with Kerry.
At least Sky are having a bit of craic with their GAA coverage.
Any omissions that made you furious?
