Tipperary GAA club, Shannon Rovers, have released a commemorative jersey in honour of the late Shane MacGowan, with the blessing of his family.
MacGowan and his family have a deep connection with the area and the club, with MacGowan's great-grandfather, John Lynch, having the honour of being the first chairman of the club.

As it says on the Shannon Rovers website, "Shane loved hearing stories of John Lynch and his affiliation with Shannon Rovers GAA and was very proud of his connections".
At his recent funeral, which took place in Nenagh, among the offertory gifts were a Tipperary flag, a sliotar, and a Shannon Rovers jersey.

Each jersey features an iconic photo of MacGowan and lyrics from 'The Broad Majestic Shannon', which MacGowan composed for The Pogues' third album.
On the back of the jersey is a photo that has been hanging in the Shannon clubhouse - depicting a tin can and an old sliotar - and was inspired by the lyrics of the song.
"I sat for a while by a gap in the wall, found a rusty tin can and an old hurley ball, heard the cards being dealt and the rosary called and a fiddle playing Sean Dún na nGall”, MacGowan sings on the recording.
The jerseys - which come in a choice black, white, and red - can be pre-ordered now, with the men's and women's costing €54, and the children's costing €45.
