In the aftermath of riding a 33-1 winner in the Galway Plate at the Galway Races, it didn't take Mark Enright long to let his thoughts drift back to Sunday. Nor did take Limerick's Shane Dowling long to reply to Enright's kind words from a few days ago.
Among the 71,000 who had packed into Croke Park for Limerick's All-Ireland semi-final win, it appears that this evening's astounding victory may only just outshine the sense of joy Sunday's result had brought the Limerick native.
Celebrating the contribution of the Na Piarsaigh man in Sunday's win, Enright had Tweeted in the immediate aftermath; "When I grow up I want to be Shane Dowling."
Replying in kind this evening, Limerick's super-sub Dowling has some wishes of his own.
When I grow up I want to be Mark Enright.. Although I would hardly make the weight! 🙈🙈 serious win kid!! Well done 👍🏼👍🏼💚 https://t.co/5IEhTCbMDt

Encapsulating an exciting few days for Limerick sport, the performances of Shane Dowling & co were still on Enright's mind in the immediate aftermath of this evening's win.
Speaking to RTÉ, Enright could scarcely contain his joy:
Jesus, Tracey, this is special. I don't win big races, you know?
It's been a great week. I was in Croke Park on Sunday when Limerick won the hurling, so, Jesus, in another couple of weeks it could be mighty!
Just for anyone watching in, I won't be Tramore on the Sunday of the All-Ireland final because I'm going to Croke Park.
