Former Roscommon inter-county goalkeeper Shane Curran has been highly critical of current Rossies manager John Evans following their exit from the Connacht Championship on Saturday.
Speaking on RTÉ's new Championship radio show 'The Marty Squad', Curran said that even noted GAA tactician Stephen Hawking would not have been able to decipher some of the tactics used against Sligo.
It went wrong before it even started. Sligo were everything that we were not.
We were completely disorganised. We weren't in tune for the game at all. We looked lethargic and from a tactical point of view I think a lot of people were baffled by the movement of players before the game.
Stephen Hawking wouldn't work out the manoeuvres that Roscommon management did prior to throw-in.
Donal Ward is a wing-back, he came in at centre-back for Conor Daly. The centre-back went to wing-back. The centre-forward went to wing-forward and the right wing-back went to centre-forward. It was impossible to work it out.
Throughout the game we were disorganised. Absolutely no intensity for a Championship match. Sligo took complete advantage of that.
I think John Evans will be very disappointed. Our Championship record under him is quite poor.
In the build-up to the game there was a weight of expectation on the players' shoulders I felt that was mystifying in some ways. I know he spoke about challenging for All-Ireland honours in the next three or four years and that is a great way to look at things.
I've no problem with any manager coming in and wanting to lift the expectations of players and the enthusiasm of supporters but you have to be honest about things aswell.
Curran questioned the decision to start Senan Kilbride despite recent injury troubles and stated his belief that Evans is not the man to get the best out of a promising bunch of Roscommon players.
Senan Kilbride hadn't trained in three weeks and to place the man at full-forward yesterday having not trained, going into it with a hamstring injury, again it's a question mark over the decision making processes that management make.
Has John Evans reached the end of the line and where he can bring these players? There is a huge group of players coming through without a doubt.
Is John Evans the man to bring them forward? I don't think that after yesterday's display that he is.
Reiterating his point, he said that the Kerryman is not a good manager and that based on Saturday's performance, the team has regressed.
Is he a good coach? Is he a good manager? I would say that he is not.
He's had to bring in Liam Kearns over the last 12 months. We did think there was a structure coming into Roscommon's football over the League but it's gone backwards with yesterday's performance.
It looks like kicking a football in a Championship match in Roscommon is nearly a crime because I think 75% of possession yesterday was through the hand-pass only.
It was slow in build-up and Sligo took advantage. They were outstanding.
