For all of its quality and competitiveness over the past fifteen years, the Ulster football Championship has consistently been peppered with sledging and other attempts to unnerve opponents, and the strangest example of that has come in today's Ulster final.
Sean Cavanagh is naturally coming in for plenty of close attention in what is likely his last Ulster final, but such attention has crossed a line into the absurd.
Having fisted a point over the bar, Cavanagh returned to the middle of the field, he was met by Down's Conor McParland...who then twisted his nipple. Twice.
Separately, there has been some equally heavy petting in The Sunday Game studio, as Joe Brolly pointed out that Colm Cooper had judged Darragh O'Hanlon's goal miss by his own, vertiginous standards.
Colm Cooper didn't take Darragh O'Hanlon's miss very well... https://t.co/8uk1GxhmVQ #RTEgaa pic.twitter.com/5XHB51h6qa
