Mayo's Sarah Rowe kicked the first goal of her AFLW career for Collingwood during their tense encounter with Carlton at Ikon Park.
It crowned an impressive showing from Rowe who showed strongly throughout and led the way with 13 touches. Yet the result was a disappointing one as Carlton snatched a late win thanks to a Darcy Vescio snap goal at the death which ensured a five-point win.
Rowe had kicked Collingwood into a lead with an after-the-siren kick from an acute angle, prompting big celebrations.

She kicked it from a tough angle after the siren to put her side in front at three quarter time - not a bad effort from the Irishwoman! pic.twitter.com/Tj3D0CoZsX— Lucy Watkin (@lucywato_) March 2, 2019

Sarah Rowe joined the AFL side on a five-month contract and will return to inter-county football afterwards.
A poor final quarter proved costly for Collingwood, who are still searching for their first victory of the season.
