Roscommon are set to host their Connacht rivals Mayo in the second round of fixtures in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship round-robins. Here's everything you need to know about Roscommon v Mayo.

For the Rossies, it was an opener to forget as they traveled to Croke Park to face Dublin in front of a crowd of only around 15,000. Roscommon started brightly and they were still within touching distance of the Dubs coming into the break with a half-time score of 0-10 to 0-09.

Unfortunately for Davy Burke's side, two late goals from Colm Basquel and Con O'Callaghan helped Dublin ease to a 2-19 to 0-13 victory.

In Mayo's case, they will be looking to make it two from two in the round-robin stage after welcoming Cavan to MacHale Park. Kevin McStay's side cruised to victory on the day, winning over the Breffni Men with a final score of 0-20 to 1-08.

This will be the third competitive fixture between the sides this year. In their league matchup in March, Mayo came out on top with a final score of 0-15 to 0-09. They then met again in the Connacht semi-final, where the Green and Gold being the victors again, with a final score of 0-13 to 1-15.

For Roscommon, a win will put them in a good position to qualify for the preliminary quarter-finals going into the last round, while for Mayo it would see them qualify for preliminaries at least, with a game with Dublin to decide if they top the group and qualify for the quarter-finals.
