This was mad! Roscommon are Connacht champions, and their supporters could not contain their excitement. Literally.
With Roscommon leading the game by three points deep into injury time, Galway wing back John Daly squandered what looked to be their final chance to secure a draw.
While that seemed like the end of the match, the referee had not actually blown the final whistle. That was obviously a fact that escaped the Roscommon supporters, who decided to rush onto the pitch anyway.

The referee and players pleaded with the crowd to get off the playing surface, and it took them a few moments to clear the pitch.
There was time for one more play in the game, but the Rossies wouldn't let the result slip. They won the kick out, before advancing up the pitch to win a free. Conor Cox would convert it, in what would prove to be the final act of the match.
This time, the supporters timed their pitch invasion correctly.

This was a fantastic win for Roscommon, especially when you consider they trailed by five points at half time. There will certainly be a sense of what could have been for Galway, who failed to show up in the second half.
