Kerry will be decked out in a retro look for the next two years, wearing a jersey designed by none other than Paul Galvin.
The jersey is a throwback to the Kerry of old, with a deep green and gold strip, longer sleeves and a white trim. Galvin, who played for the county from 2003-2014 winning four all-Ireland titles, has been working on the jersey for the past number of months.
It was launched via a Facebook video on Kerry GAA's page:
Galvin spoke about his motivation behind the design, citing the 1985 All-Ireland winning sides strip as inspiration:
The new design is inclusive, rich in storytelling and strong in identity.
Inspired by the iconic 1985 Kerry jersey, the deep green and gold base with white trims was essential to re-connecting with Kerry’s identity while also helping to implement part of the County Board’s vision for the future in addressing the issue of number visibility for supporters.

We look forward to seeing them in action in it, with David Clifford leading the new generation of Kerry footballers in a old school jersey.
The jersey is now available for sale from the official Kerry GAA Store.
