A Dublin man was allegedly given €15,000 to fund an injunction case to prevent the Garth Brooks concerts from happening. Brian Duff claims that unnamed individuals who "wanted to take down the GAA" coughed up the capital.

The 43-year-old has since withdrawn his court bid and admits that he regrets getting involved in the suit.

Duff received the money on Sunday but was unwilling to reveal who paid him. He told the Irish Independent,

Garth Brooks was just a stepping stone. This money came from people in GAA circles. It's GAA clubs who are sympathetic to the cause.

He claimed that he and his family were forced to go into hiding last night after being subjected to death threats following the withdrawal of his case. He contacted Dublin's Lord Mayor Christy Burke after allegedly receiving the threats but refused to report the incident to the Gardaí.

You can't be a squealer in the North Inner City... do you wan't me to get shot?

Duff and his family were forced to stay in a B&B as a result of the death threats. His daughters were allegedly targeted on Facebook.

It is thought that Duff's high court action may have played a factor in the cancellation of the five Garth Brooks concerts set for Croke Park this summer.
