The final finished level and the replay was won by Portlaoise but a vicious fracas that marred that game had serious repercussions for both clubs and images of those incidents are still vivid in the memory today of all that witnessed them.
Thankfully those dark days are well behind us and while Portlaoise won that infamous final Camross came back with a new look team to win it back from them a year later
There is no mention as to what millonaire in Laois had ownership of a video camera way back in 1989... but thankful we are, in anyways.
