As it was in last year's All-Ireland final, there was just a single point between Kilkenny and Cork in the Littlewoods Camogie Leagues Division One final on Sunday.

This time, at Nowlan Park, it was Kilkenny who edged the game rather than the 2017 All-Ireland champions Cork.

With eight minutes to go in the second half - and Kilkenny ahead by three - Denise Gaule had an opportunity to further extend her side's lead from a penalty.

The chance came after Cork goalkeeper Aoife Murray brought down Shelly Farrell with a clothesline challenge. It was one which would see Murray receive a straight red card from the referee.

Denise Gaule's penalty would be saved on the line by midfielder Ashling Thompson setting up an exciting finished as Cork managed to close the gap on Kilkenny but would ultimately fall short.
