There is nothing better than a good jersey, but what is the cream of the crop when it comes to the best inter-county GAA jerseys for 2022?
This week officially marks the start of championship season, with the lower level hurling competitions getting underway this weekend. With the provincial championships in both hurling and Gaelic football set to follow in the next few weeks, what better time to rank every county's jersey for this year?
Here's how we ranked the efforts from all 32 counties (plus London and New York) ahead of this summer's action.
2022 Inter-County GAA Jerseys Ranking
34. Laois
A serious lack of creativity from Laois here.
33. Leitrim
There is just something a bit off-putting about that shade of green.
32. Carlow
Carlow jerseys can be very hit and miss, with the effort unfortunately falling into the latter category.
31. New York
There is plenty of scope for improvement with that colour scheme.
30. Armagh
Certainly not one of Armagh's better efforts.
29. Antrim
Antrim is another county that should be doing a lot more with their unique colour scheme.
28. Sligo
Sligo have had a few crackers in recent years, but this isn't one of them.
27. Kerry
Kerry usually find themselves near the top of these rankings, but their 2022 effort has not been a popular release.
26. London
This one just lacks a bit of originality.
25. Fermanagh
While this is an improvement on their last jersey, Fermanagh are still lacking here.
24. Dublin
Another county in a much lower position than we would normally see, the Dubs have had much nicer jerseys in the past.
23. Clare
A classic look, although it could do with a bit more flare.
22. Down
Down have been hit and miss in recent years, although this is not among their nicest jerseys.
21. Longford
This is an improvement from Longford, although it's still not enough to crack the top 20 in these rankings.
20. Galway
There is a little bit too much going on here.
19. Waterford
This would have ranked higher if not for the strange design on the sleeves.
18. Wicklow
Not a bad effort from Wicklow.
17. Tyrone
Tyrone just about sneak into the top half of the rankings, but it's not their best jersey.
16. Cavan
A nice looking piece of kit, Cavan would rank a bit higher were it not for the fact that this is the same as their 2021 jersey.
15. Meath
The stripes give this one a unique look.
14. Derry
A clean, simple effort.
13. Louth
This a very strong effort from Louth, who have been found wanting in our rankings in the past.
12. Kildare
A classic look from Kildare.
11. Roscommon
A big improvement from Roscommon this year, placing them just outside the top ten.
10. Mayo
A lovely jersey, although it drops a few spots due to it being in its second year of use.
9. Donegal
This is a massive upgrade for Donegal, who had been languishing near the bottom of our rankings in recent years.
8. Tipperary
A real retro feel to this one, something we're all for.
7. Kilkenny
You don't mess with a classic.
6. Monaghan
A real beauty from Monaghan.
5. Cork
A simple look, but this one really works.
4. Wexford
Wexford continue to produce the goods year on year, with this being another gorgeous jersey.
3. Offaly
Winning All-Irelands at underage, competing at the top level in hurling, and producing cracking jerseys.
Offaly are back!
2. Limerick
There is always something to be said for the sponsorless look, something Limerick pull off to perfection here.
1. Westmeath
What a glow up!
Westmeath have been consistently near the bottom of these rankings in the recent past, but this cracking jersey vaults them right to the top. It's a clean look, with the wave design across the mid-rift really bringing it to the next level.
It's the cream of the crop for 2022.
