He may look a bit like Eoin McLove but there's absolutely nothing, er, 'lacking' about Jack McCaffrey. The Dublin wing-back looks increasingly likely to be named footballer of the year and despite what Joe Brolly may say, he's thoroughly deserving of it.
McCaffrey's incredibly ability to get up and down the field was once again key to Dublin's game plan in the All-Ireland final and that has been made all the more remarkable by a little tidbit that Pillar Caffrey revealed after the final whistle. The former Dubs boss was speaking on RTÉ Radio's 'The Marty Squad' after yesterday's clash and he had some interesting things to reveal about the Clontarf man's less than ideal preparation.
Jack McCaffrey was very sick this week and he did phenomenally well to make the pitch at all. He had a gastric bug for the last three days and he was very doubtful. He was actually on a drip for 24 hours so to see what he put in out on that pitch was amazing.
Now that's just showing off.
