Anyone who happened upon the Offaly Senior Club Hurling semi final clash between St Rynaghs and Seir Kieran might have been slightly confused by what they were witnessing in Tullamore.
Not only do both sides happen to share nearly identical colours to Tipperary and Kilkenny but the referee for the game was none other than Brian Gavin. It was almost as if the people of Offaly enjoyed the All-Ireland final so much that they decided to hold a third leg of the epic clash.
The game played out as if it was in some sort of alternate reality as St Rynagh's, the side who don the Premier County's colours, cruised to a 1-17 to 2-7 victory over their counterparts. Any embittered Tipp hurling fans can cling on to that.
