Na Piarsaigh were crowned Limerick Senior Hurling Championship champions this evening, defeating Patrickswell on a scoreline of 1-20 to 0-19 after a pulsating clash at the Gaelic Grounds.
The defending champions came into this game hoping to retain the crown they won in 2022, with a win also securing their third title in four years. An old rival awaited them in the decider, with Patrickswell having handed the club their most recent county final defeat when they faced off in 2019.
It was an exciting game right from the off, one where any pleasantries with familiar faces on the opposition team were quickly abandoned.

Peter Casey responds to Cian Lynch hit in Limerick final
Cian Lynch and Peter Casey have been cornerstones of the success Limerick have experienced in recent years, although the pair did not hold back when facing each other in this county final.
Just ten minutes into the game, Patrickswell man Lynch would produce a tough hit on his inter-county teammate during a scrum for the sliotar, with Casey certainly clearly feeling the contact at the time.

However, he would produce the perfect response later in the first half.
It came when he netted the only goal of the game, with this proving to be a vital moment in the contest. It was an aboslutely stunning solo effort.

Na Piarsaigh would manage to keep themselves in front from this point onwards, ultimately emerging as four-point winners. Peter Casey would end the match with a personal tally of 1-1, with Cian Lynch finishing scoreless.
The Limerick club will now quickly focus their attentions on a Munster campaign, a competition they have not won since 2017. They will play the winner of the fixture between Waterford's Ballygunner and Cork's Sarsfield in the semi-final, with that pair set to face off tomorrow afternoon in Walsh Park.
After this performance, they will have ambitions of making a deep run in that competition.
