Legendary former Kerry footballer Paul Galvin is reportedly set for a return to management at club level as he looks to build on his young coaching career.
Galvin - who won four All-Irelands and three All-Stars during his decorated playing days - had been working as a part of Robbie Brennan's backroom team at Kilmacud Crokes last season after dipping his toes in inter-county management.
The 2009 Footballer of the Year first managed Wexford before stepping down from the role due to 'time and travel commitments' during the pandemic - having been travelling to Wexford from the west of Ireland.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak in Dublin my family has moved back to the west of Ireland... I am stepping away from my role with Wexford due to the new time and travel commitments involved," he explained at the time.
He would return to coaching as a part of Kildare's backroom team under Glenn Ryan before taking on that role with Dublin-based Crokes - who were beaten by Cuala in the 2024 Dublin SFC final.
Paul Galvin reportedly set to manage Meath club Ratoath
However, he is set to take up a top job with Meath club Ratoath as per reports in the Meath Chronicle.
Galvin is said to have been confirmed as the new manager of the three-time Meath SFC champions, succeeding the departing Lar Norton.
Nathan Gavigan - who played inter-county with Donegal - had been touted for the job having worked with Ratoath as a coach under Norton, however he will instead retain his role under the new boss.
Ratoath - won won their county championship in 2019, 2020 and 2022 - were beaten in the last eight of the competition in 2024.
Galvin's boss at Crokes, Robbie Brennan, has since taken the top job in the county having succeeded Colm O'Rourke - who guided Meath to the Tailteann Cup during his reign.
