Patrickswell defeated Ahane 2-16 to 2-13 in the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship at Fitzgerald Park in Kilmallock on Thursday evening.
The game, which was broadcast live by Stream Sport, featured a sensational team goal by the winners. In the 36th minute - with Patrickswell leading 1-8 to 0-7 - a ball down the line from John Flynn found Kevin O'Brien who deftly flicked the sliotar into the hand of Cian Lynch.
The two-time Hurler of the Year immediately delivered a superb diagonal pass to Aaron Gillane at corner forward and the three-time All-Star finished to the net. His teammates received a thumbs up and clap in appreciation. The Patrickswell lead had been extended to seven points.

Ahane did come back into the game with five-time Limerick All-Ireland winner Tom Morrissey - who scored 1-11 in all - key to his side's resurgence. Morrissey got his goal in the 50th minute and six minutes later Paddy Morrissey got another for Ahane as Patrickswell's lead was reduced to the minimum.
However, Ahane's second goal was their final score of the game while Patrickwell tacked on two more points to seal the win.
The victory was Patrickswell's second of Group 1 in the Limerick SHC. They had already defeated Na Piarsaigh in the opening round, a result which was followed by a loss to Doon.
Ahane sit on two points after an opening round victory over Kyle Hayes's Kildimo Pallaskenry. They also lost to Kilmallock in addition to Thursday's against Patrickswell.
Patrickswell are seeking their first Limerick senior title since 2019 while it's 19 years since Ahane last won the John Daly Cup.
