After a massive buildup, seemingly both Munster finals this year were to be hosted in a redeveloped Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
The new stadium is set to have a capacity of 45,000 and has been under construction since 2014.
Alas, word came immediately after Cork beat Tipperary in the football semi final with Cork GAA confirming that the stadium would not be ready for either final in the first two weeks of July (2nd and 9th respectively).
It will be ready, however, for the All-Ireland hurling quarter-finals on July 23rd. The Central Council confirmed the move at a meeting earlier today.

It'll be the first time the quarter-finals will be played outside of Thurles since 2010.
We expect a statement from the GAA within the next couple of days.
