A Bernard Brogan-inspired Oliver Plunketts sent 2016 All-Ireland champions Ballyboden St. Endas tumbling at the first hurdle this time around with a stunning 2-10 to 0-13 victory at Parnell Park last night.
Brogan shot 0-6 in a game which also saw Paul Galvin register his first score in the Dublin Senior Football Championship, as goals from Leigh Herron and Gareth Smith - the latter from the spot - saw Plunketts progress with two points to spare.
Brogan provided a classy assist for Herron's opening goal, and was the player dragged down for Smith's spotter in the second half.
