Geelong Cats have confirmed the signing of Mayo footballer Oisín Mullin as a category B rookie.
Mullin has been a star player for Mayo over the past two seasons. He was named Young Footballer of the Year in 2020, and is again nominated this year.
The 21-year-old joins Laoisman Zach Tuohy at the club, along with Kerryman Mark O'Connor. Another Kerryman, Stefan Okunbor, recently departed the Melbourne team. Mullin's fellow Mayo footballer Rachel Kearns signed with Geelong's AFLW side during the summer.
Mullin had been linked with a move Down Under for the past two years.
"Oisín is a very athletic and talented prospect, and we are thrilled he has chosen to join the Cats as he transitions to AFL,” Geelong’s recruiting and list manager Stephen Wells said.
“Oisín has already established himself as an elite player in the GAA, and it is a big step to make the move to Australia. We have a strong plan in place around his development and transition to football.”
