Offaly, led by an impressive performance from Adam Screeney, have won the U20 All-Ireland Hurling Championship after an impressive 2-20 to 2-14 win over Tipperary in Nowlan Park this evening.

There were brilliant performances around the park from the Leinster county, as captain Dan Bourke finished the game scoring 1-3, whilst Barry Egan scored 1-2.

However, it was the left corner-forward Adam Screeney who stole the show in more ways than one. Screeney led the line for Offaly this evening, scoring 12 points (nine from frees) in the game, but it was his post-match interview with TG4 that will be perhaps his most memorable moment.

Fans swarmed the pitch up in Nowlan Park after the full-time whistle blew, with Offaly having won an U20 All-Ireland Hurling title for the first time in the county's history. With thousands of The Faithful descending onto the pitch, star forward Adam Screeney conducted a brilliant post-game interview on the pitch and has won the hearts of everyone on social media.

Screeney was asked how he felt after winning the All-Ireland on the third time of asking, his response was everything you would expect from a delighted 19-year-old who has just one his first All-Ireland.

Oh my god, words can't even explain the joy this brings to any man. There's no other place in the country I'd rather be than f*cking Nowlan Park here today and winning an All-Ireland...

It's just an incredible atmosphere. I can't speak highly enough of them lot. We were knocked out in 2022 with a ridiculous goal, we came back in 2023 and lost, and to come back here again and to win against Tipp in Nowlan park it's just absolutely incredible.

A fantastic interview from a brilliant young hurler.

With Offaly's success in both codes at underage level in recent years, they are very much a county on the rise.
