Irish people are flocking to New Zealand with the latest Census showing there are 1,600 in Christchurch alone. Of course they have brought the home games with them. Hurling in particular has led to some very bemused locals, as can be seen in this recent description in the local press.

The 'Hockey mixed with murder' headline is one that's bound to grab attention. Aside from that the piece makes has one small mistake that is bound to upset the Cyril 'And They Do It All For Nawthin' Farrells of this world, as it says 'Players are amateur level in clubs and only the best make the inter-county professional teams. Professional players devote their lives to the pursuit.'
