Any thoughts that Kerry might be in danger of relegation from Division One of the Allianz League dissipated on Saturday evening in Castlebar as Eamonn Fitzmaurice's side defeated Mayo by three points.
Along with giving another senior outing to numerous young players, there was a debut for the new Kerry away jersey.
The Paul Galvin designed gold jersey is a departure from the blue of recent years.
The front
From the side
The back
The new jersey has most definitely split opinion.
Tis a tasty jersey in fairness. Castlebar is always tough place to go but equally always has a great atmosphere so hope it drives our boys on for the win. #backtogold #awaydays #upkerry

What a victory for @Kerry_Official on the road considering how many players were missing and to go 2 men down. Our young players were outstanding !! So exciting to watch them. Well done to management and players. And a shoutout to @pgal10 Jersey is pure class. #backtogold

Kerry away jersey reminds me of the classic reversible Man Utd centenary top. Gold on one side, white on the other. Never had it off me for about six years.

The new jersey has been released to celebrate 130 years of Kerry GAA. However, not everyone is a fan.
Shockers in Castlebar: 1. refereeing inconsistency (some fellas molested without a free and then gust of wind job is a Mayo pen?).2.Kerry’s wastefulness. 3. That @Kerry_Official jersey.

Not a fan of the new Kerry change jersey, but at least they have black shorts and socks to go with it pic.twitter.com/Pch6WaEpzw

Methinks the new away Kerry GAA jersey is going to be a 'love it or hate it' item. I'm still on the fence until I get a proper gander at it, but let's just say I don't love it.
