Limerick GAA club Na Piarsaigh has distanced itself from a proposed underage training camp set to take place in Portugal next year.
A document circulating on social media over the weekend said that Monaleen GAA club has "teamed up with our neighbours Na Piarsaigh, to train and play hurling in Portugal".
It was added that the "warm weather training camp" for U14 players, set to take place during the Easter break of 2024, would be "an unbelievable trip for our players as they will live like an intercounty player and experience the full benefit of warm weather training in a 5-star purpose-built sports resort." A requirement of the trip is that a parent or guardian must accompany each player.
"Na Piarsaigh GAA are aware of social media posts and comment surrounding a proposed underage trip to Portugal," the club posted on social media.
"Na Piarsaigh wish to state, no trip of any kind to Portugal in 2024 has been considered or agreed by Executive Committee.
"No further comment will be made by the club."

The document had seeded plenty of debate online.
Chairperson of Monaleen GAA Club Jim Canny told Limerick Live: "They were going to pay for themselves with no cost to the club. To me it is blown out of all proportion - I believe probably due to an incorrect choice of words that were put together on the document.
"I think the intention was good to take a bunch of young kids from two clubs and promote the code as they do in other codes like rugby and soccer."
