Mickey Harte continued his strong start to life as Derry manager over the weekend, with his side cementing their place as perhaps the form GAA side in the country at the moment by booking their spot in Division 1 final by beating Roscommon.
It was a routine victory for the Ulster champions, who ran out as 2-19 to 1-9 winners at Celtic Park. That marked their sixth victory of the campaign, with their only defeat coming against Dublin earlier this month.
Those two sides will now face off at Croke Park this weekend to decide the league champions for 2024.

Mickey Harte rubbishes suggestions to scrap GAA league finals
Considering the condensed nature of the current GAA calendar, quite a few people have suggested scrapping the league finals. They can certainly cause headaches for some teams, with Westmeath facing into the possibility of playing five matches in five weeks after reaching the Division 3 decider.
However, Mickey Harte has rubbished such suggestions.
Speaking to the BBC, the Derry boss gave a blunt response to the idea that the league finals had no place in the current GAA schedule.
I think it would be a disgrace to take away the league final.
I imagine for the teams down the leagues, the chance to play a league final in Croke Park is the highlight of their year.
It is as big a day as they are going to get for a lot of them, so why would you take that away?
It would be an anti-climax if today the league was over and the team that is ahead would win the league. I would not like that.
I don't know what is the big deal. One more week's football and shoving the championship on a week, so be it.
Derry will be hoping to win a first Division title since 2008 this weekend, an honour that would cap off what has already been a massively impressive start to the 2024 GAA campaign.
They may have their sights set on bigger prizes later in the year, but Mickey Harte is certainly relishing the opportunity to get his hands on some silverware at Croke Park on Sunday.
